Looking back, it has been 17 years since the first independent film produced by STUDIO F+ was selected for a film festival.
It all started in 2007, when my first documentary film "Otaku from America," which I produced and directed, was selected for the "Kawasaki Digital Short Film Festival.
At the time, I brought my American friend Adrian and his girlfriend, who appeared in the film, to Kawasaki City to attend the awards ceremony.
The president of the jury for that festival was film critic Tadao Sato.
After that, I submitted my films to various short film festivals in various genres, while working on Chiba TV programs and editing videos for NHK in order to earn a living.
Then, my second feature film over 60 minutes in length, "Diana from Hong Kong" was selected as the Honorable Mention Film of the Month at the ARFF in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, after "Cinema Story 2007-2008" in 2008.
Thank you very much to everyone who participated in this independent film.
We are continuing to submit our films to various film festivals around the world and will report back on our blog as soon as we know the results.
